Calcium borogluconate quickly penetrates the bloodstream, raising the calcemia by 15-20% above the baseline. Calcium participates in skeletal formation, controls cell permeability and blood clotting. Calcium deficiency affects the reproductive function in horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs often causing infertility, serious disorders of spermatogenesis.
Target species. Equines, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs.
It is used in treatment of the following: paresis and paraplegia (antepartum and postpartum), hypocalcemia, tetanus, metabolic disorders, intoxication, allergies, toxics, rickets, osteomalacia, haemorrhagic conditions, anemia, vaginal and uterine prolapse, cesarean operations, enteropathies, weakened animals, tachycardia or cardiac arrhythmias, spermatogenesis disorders in horses, cattle, sheep, goats, swine.
Method of administration and dosage.
It should be given in slow intravenous infusions. As much as possible, administer at body temperature in the following doses:
Cattle: 250 – 300 ml
Equines: 150 – 250 ml
Sheep and goats: 50 – 100 ml
Pigs: 30 – 100 ml
Dogs: 5 – 25 ml
Doses are repeated daily or once every 2-3 days.
